Research-use context: “What it is used for” below means what scientists and clinical researchers have investigated—not an instruction or recommendation for personal use.

What researchers study

Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analogue investigated clinically for appetite regulation, satiety and body-weight management, both alone and in combination with semaglutide.

Potential side effects & unknowns

Clinical trials have most often reported gastrointestinal effects such as nausea, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal discomfort, along with injection-site reactions. Trial findings apply to regulated study drug—not automatically to third-party research material.

Research highlight

Unlike many peptides on this site, cagrilintide has substantial randomized human trial data. Phase 2 research reported clinically meaningful weight reduction, and later combination studies with semaglutide reported larger reductions while gastrointestinal adverse events remained common.
