Potential side effects & unknowns
Human clinical safety data are limited and indication-specific. In one randomized postoperative study, overall treatment-emergent adverse-event rates were similar to placebo, but that does not establish safety for unsupervised or long-term use. Endocrine and metabolic effects remain relevant concerns.
Research highlight
Early pharmacology work found ipamorelin stimulated GH while showing less ACTH/cortisol release than some older growth-hormone secretagogues. Human studies have been limited and have not established broad performance, recovery or longevity benefits.
